Inauguration of the Variante di Valico
On 22 December 2015, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and CEO of Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. Giovanni Castellucci together with CMB President Carlo Zini inaugurated the long-awaited Variante di Valico.
The ceremony took place inside the Sparvo Tunnel, the construction of which was made possible by the use of the largest excavation machine in the world, the Martina TBM, which is over 100 metres long and has a milling head diameter of approximately 16 metres.
Eppi was commissioned by Autostrade per l'Italia to transform the tunnel into a real conference hall with chairs, a stage and seats, boxes for the many journalists, and a sound, light and video system.
In record time, a 4x2.5-metre LEDWALL was mounted to broadcast live the passage of the first car on the new stretch of motorway, a copy of the FIAT 500 that first passed over the original road.
Eppi also designed and created the Event's graphic layout and produced all the communication supports.
